Halloween Fun

Eli LOVES his Halloween costume. And when I say love, I don't mean that he just thinks it is cool and loves to wear it - quite the contrary - he doesn't like to wear it so much, but he LOVES to give it hugs and kisses and pack it around the house growling. He is getting quite the repertoire of animal noises, and a tiger happens to be one of them. It is so cute and funny!

Our playgroup had a Halloween party yesterday, so we went to get as much use out of Eli's tiger costume. He woke up at 5am that morning, so he wasn't in the best of moods until - da da dada - Eli had the taste of his first Tootsie Pop. Let me just say that it was a tasty little treat for this little tiger. He was making the cutest faces and lip smacking noises! That was definitely the hit of the party for Eli.

Here he is showing off his paws and claws. Grrrr.

Oh so yummy!

We also went to a fun little farm not to far from our house that had the best pumpkin patch and cool stuff I have ever seen for Halloween! They had free hayrides that took you out to their numerous pumpkin patches where you got off the ride and picked your own pumpkins. The hayride was towed by a tractor (one of Eli's favorite things). He was totally entranced by the whole thing. He also loves pumpkins because we have a book about the Five Little Pumpkins (thanks Mom and Dad). He bounces his hand around whenever he sees pumpkins and wants me to rehearse the thoroughly memorized lines from this book. His hand was bouncing A LOT that night.

They also had a corn maze and a little hay bale maze for the kidlets. Eli wasn't going very fast through the hay bale maze because there were pumpkins all over and he had to stop, turn to me, and bounce his hand around so I would recite the Five Little Pumpkins for him.

Here he is in the maze and by some pumpkins.

We also went on a fun little train ride with some friends in Horseshoe Bend (a small town about 30 minutes north of Boise). Eli thought this was pretty cool, too. The train took us a little way to a "pumpkin patch" (by this I mean a little clearing just off the tracks where they imported a bunch of pumpkins and scattered them around so the kids could get off the train and get some pumpkins). It wasn't nearly as authentic as the farm we went to, but it was pretty neat, nonetheless. Eli enjoyed the train ride, and of course, the pumpkins.

Running amuck in the pumpkin patch! For the life of me, I couldn't get him to look at me for any pictures! We was just so excited looking at all the orange orbs littering the ground, he couldn't spare a moment for mom!
Two cute little curly heads! This is our friends' daughter Isabella with Eli.

Here is his happy little pumpkin dance!

Okay, this was absolutely adorable. Eli has started liking to sit in the real chairs at the table. He will go up to a chair and say "chair, up" until we help him up. We need to get him a booster seat, but that is beside the point. We sat down to dinner and put Eli in his chair and we were getting ready to bless the food. I looked over at Eli and he had his little hands clasped and elbows on the table, smiling and looking at us expectantly. It was a priceless moment! The pictures aren't nearly as cute as the whole moment was, but here they are anyway.

He is so darn cute and he is so much fun right now! He is learning so much and becoming so much of his own little person. We are so blessed to have him in our home!

Oh, that looks so fun!!! I have to say I'm a little bit jealous of your cute pumpkin farm with a train ride and everything. Our pumpkin patches here are so lame! An empty construction lot by the side of a busy road where they set up a bunch of pumpkins on bales of hay and a few bouncy houses and a couple of ponies to ride just doesn't cut it!! We took Mya to one anyway but I wasn't a happy camper!! I will have some pics of our outing on my blog soon!
Love ya to bits!

He looks adorable in his costume! I wish we'd had another party to go to so that we could have gotten more use out of Max's costume. Oh well, Wednesday will be a blast, I'm sure!

So I am super jealous about your pumpkin patch experiences. I've been wanting to do something like that and I found out that all of the ones around here are like 45 min-1 hour away. We were going to go on Saturday but ended up with a birthday party in the middle of the day to attend. So tonight Max is going to get a glorious pumpkin from someplace really exciting like Albertsons. Bummer. I guess I'll have to live vicariously through you. What's wrong with all of the farmers around here?! We have quite a few of them! Darn farmers.
