Eli loves trucks. In these photos he is riding around and causing mayhem in his Tonka Truck that his Great-Grandma Nelson got for him. He loves for me (or daddy) to push him around. This pushing must be accompanied by sound effects. Vrooming going forward and beep beeping when going backward. He will help me out with the sounds should I start to lose enthusiasm to get me to resume full volume. This is serious business, after all. No half-hearted noisemaking will be tolerated on the jobsite. The truck also came with some fun sand/dirt toys and a hard hat. Eli likes it best when I wear the hat (which he pronounces "AT" with a smile).
Ah, a box AND a truck. Little boy heaven.
His latest thing has been to lift heavy, awkward objects UP, up the stairs, up onto the fireplace, up on chairs, up on the couch, up on the dog or cat. He gets quite frustrated and disgruntled when he has a hard time with it. This odd ritual is initiated with industrious chanting of "UP, UP, UP" that would put the creepy Wal-Mart employee pep rally to shame, and finishes with a little bit of whining (ok, maybe alot depending on how near naptime or lunch time is) and looking at me like if I weren't so lazy, I would be reading his mind and helping out! I hope I never have employee reviews from this guy. He can be one tough cookie.
