Proud Mama

I know I am running the risk of sounding like every mother who thinks they have given birth to the world's most intelligent and handsome kid ever to grace this planet, but dang it, I do think our little man is pretty darn sharp and also pretty darn cute!

He knows four colors now. Yellow, blue, purple, and green. He can count to four and then starts up again for eight and nine (we count going up and down the stairs). He just is amazing me with all the words he knows. He has started saying "me me" for excuse me anytime anyone, including himself, hiccups, burps, or -ahem- passes gas. He finds this last action quite amusing and he packs quite the volume and is proud of it! He has also started saying DUDE whenever I put his sunglasses on him. Ah, such a young and impressionable mind! And I am the one who gets to fill it!!!

Maybe I am so amazed because I spent so much time with him as this helpless noodle neck and have just watched in awe as he has grown and started to learn, and learn, and LEARN about this world that he lives in. It is so incredible to me that someone who started out so small and strange (you have to admit-newborns are a bit strange-they are precious beyond imagining, but strange nonetheless) to such a fun little man who is getting to be so independent and is always hilarious! He is so friendly and outgoing and is always saying Hi to whomever he sees and promptly offers to share his cars, crackers, or whatever he happens to have in his hands.

It is definitely an incredible thing to be a mom. I am so grateful everyday that I am his mommy and I am so grateful for his health, his love for life, and, of course, his irresistible cuteness.
