3 Weeks Old and I don't know what I was so worried about

My little man is 3 weeks old today. I know everyone says this with new kids, but it really does seem like he has always been with us. He still spends most of his days sleeping and snuggling. I am totally going to enjoy this to the fullest extent possible while it lasts! He is such a little snuggle bug. He loves being packed around in my Moby Wrap (baby carrier) and gets in the fetal position and has a look of heavenly bliss when I poke my head in to check on him. By all rights, he should still be in my belly - my official due date still hasn't passed. Not that I am complaining, mind...

He is starting to coo at us and make more distinct noises when he is frustrated by his hiccups or a burp that is stuck. I love when he smiles and laughs in his sleep! He doesn't sleep in long stretches at night yet - usually about 2-3 hours. These little people's tummy's don't stay full for very long. I am sure as he (and his tummy) get a little bigger he will be able to sleep longer. He just has such a sweet little spirit and I can't wait to watch him grow and to get to know him better!

Eli is doing a bit better with Xander. I think he really just wants Xander to be big enough to play with and teach him all he knows. I think once Xander is more interactive Eli will be more amicable sharing his mommy. Eli did help me give him a bottle today and he thought that was pretty cool.

We have survived the first two days on our own without incident. I really don't know why I felt so petrified to do it on my own. It hasn't been nearly as hard as I thought. We went for a long walk yesterday morning and played in the house (because it was windy and REALLY cold outside). Today we skipped the walk due to colder weather and stronger winds. We ran a couple of errands and stopped at the library and then at the store. I can handle this - toddler on one hip, diaper bag over the shoulder, and baby in carseat in tow. I swear Heavenly Father blesses you with an extra set of hands when you are a mother! I guess I should really give credit where credit is due - I know the Man Upstairs has really fortified me and given me the strength I need to do this job. I've been offering some pretty fervent prayers for help in the mom-to-two-gig that I've undertaken. Thank Heaven for divine assistance!

Here are a bunch of pictures from the last week. I swear, I take more pictures than a herd of paparazzi chasing the latest Hollywood starlette. And I only post a very small fraction of what I take! I guess when you have such cute kids, you can't help but keep the cameras rolling

I'm so proud of you! You sound like you are really excelling at this mommy of 2 business. Xander is such a cutie pie! And Eli is getting so big. I'm glad he is being such a good big brother. It will be so fun to watch your 2 little boys grow up and be best buds.
Love you guys!
