Our First Week Together on the Outside

Little Xander is 1 week old now (and a day). This is such a precious stage where they just eat, sleep, poop, and snuggle! I am pleased to announce that he takes both a pacifier and a bottle - two actions that his brother never cared for.

Eli is doing well with his brother most of the time. I can tell he feels a little displaced and that really breaks my heart (I am tearing up just thinking about it - go go gadget hormones!) Brandon has become his favorite buddy and wants to be with him ALL the time. It is so sweet to see! He is really loving this time with Daddy doing boy things in the garage and palling around. It will be a sad day in the Nelson household when Brandon has to go back to work!

Here are some pictures of little Xander. He really is LITTLE! It is amazing to see how small he is and then hold Eli and all of his solid chunkiness. We are working our hardest to fatten this little guy up! His preemie clothes practically drown the poor little guy! His skin is even too baggy on him right now. So itty bitty! And Eli was even smaller! I was rocking Eli to sleep the other night and holding his hand and I got all choked up thinking about how small he was and how big he is now and how much I love him (yep, more hormones). I am excited to see what Xander has in store for us.

We are all doing quite well. I feel fantastic - a bit tired, but I really do feel good. It is a little overwhelming at times, but I am really loving my two boys (and I am absolutely cherishing not being pregnant anymore!)

Here are a few fun pictures...

Blowing a kiss!

All dressed up in his preemie clothes

There are times in life when you don't ask questions, you just run and grab the camera! Here are a couple of those instances...

Eli all ready to go outside complete with scarf, mittens, and hat.

Yeah, what do you say? Just grab the camera. This is Eli in Brandon's hat he got in Chinatown a few years back and his weight lifting gloves. Quite the combo, no?

Running around at the park with Daddy.

Snuggling with Grandma in his new digger blanket Grandma made for him.

WOW! I can't believe it's already been a week. Xander is just adorable. So tiny and sweet. I wish I could snuggle him!!
Eli is such a funny kid. I love his choice of accessories!
I'm so glad that you are feeling good and that things are going well.
Love you & miss you!

Your boys are so precious. Xander is so tiny, especially when you compare him to his brother...they grow up so fast and our babies are no longer babies. I'm glad you are doing well. "Amen" to being tired but VERY grateful for not being pregnant anymore!!!

congrats Kirsten! What a beautiful family you have. Thank goodness for good husbands who play with the older sibling and keep them occupied...it definitely makes the transition easier! Glad to hear you are feeling well...enjoy the new baby! He looks a lot like baby Eli to me.
