I guess this might be a weird thing to get all gushy about, but Eli has two freckles now! They are so cute. One is on his left wrist and the other is on his leg. Cute, cute, cute. I always forget how many freckles have showed up on my face as I am getting older until I see a picture of myself. I am always shocked to see how many I have these days - especially in the summer! I guess it is the Irish in me coming out...
Eli likes his freckles too, now that he knows they aren't just dirt or something. He will point to it and say "Cute freckle!"
His two-ness is still very evident. Holy cow! They weren't kidding when the infamous "they" (who are they anyway?) termed it the terrible twos. I really miss my sweet little Eli. I know being sick hasn't helped his mood either. Everything has to be his idea. Here is a typical conversation:
me: Eli, do you want some breakfast?
eli: No, no, no...
me: Eli, do you want some yogurt and grapes?
eli: No, no, no - screeching and whining and tantrum
-pause while I resume doing whatever I was doing before I so rudely posed such an inappropriate question -
eli: Yogurt and grapes, Mommy?
me: Ok, Eli - lets go sit in your chair.
eli: Ok, sure - thanks Mommy
Oh, these little people and their assertions at independence.

Don't you just love that age? The best part is that despite all of the outbursts and defiance, kids say and do the cutest things as they fight for their independence. I love the discovery of freckles...your little guy is just too cute!
they really do seem a little bipolar at times...it is amazing how quickly the mood can change and the horns come out!
