My Pants Don't Fit

I have been feeling a lot like Steve Urkel lately. By this I don't mean skinny ( and African American-quite the opposite of this on both counts), I mean awkward with pants that don't fit right. (I will always have some remnants of the geek I once was deep down inside me-it must have something to do with wearing the LARGE glasses that were popular even though they looked terrible on everyone).

I don't know why this pregnancy is so different, but this little man is making use of my anatomy quite differently than Eli in the way he has set up shop (even though he has assumed the exact same position Eli was in - head down and feet in the right side of my ribcage) . The pants that were so heavenly comfortable when I was pregnant with Eli will absolutely not stay up! I find myself constantly hiking up my pants and getting more and more agitated with every adjustment. I went through all my maternity pants yesterday and NOTHING FITS RIGHT!

I think this is a major source of my ornery pregnancy attitude.

As if I don't already feel big and awkward enough with this belly bumping into everything, I am constantly reminded of my growing girth with every hike of my pants. I am so irritated by this, I might actually go and get some WAY above the button pants (I do so detest any article of clothing above my navel-this is a sign of my great irritation at this clothing quandary of mine). I do have a pair of prego-overalls. I contemplated wearing those today, but with my frequent trips to the potty, I think this would be more annoying than the pant-hike routine.

How do you think suspenders would look on a pregnant lady? I might just complete the Urkel look and don suspenders and my old glasses. Whaddya think?

I say go for it - but maybe you shouldn't leave your house! (Hehheeeehheeeee!!) Sorry about your clothing woes. That really stinks - all you want when you are pregnant is to be comfortable. My suggestion is to go shopping and try on as many pants as you can stand and if you find a comfortable pair buy them in every color!!
Good luck - let us know if you actually try the Urkel look! :)

Until the past two weeks I've been in my regular jeans for this exact reason! I've been making use of a rubber band to keep my pants up (loop it a few times around the button and then through the button hole and back around the button). It totally works since maternity shirts are long and nobody ever notices. I totally recommend it! It was annoying to me as well until I tried this little remedy. Plus then you feel great that you can still "fit" into your pre-pregnancy jeans. :)

I bet your pants stretched out while you were prego with Eli so thats why they arent fitting like you want them to...dont worry be happy!

I was going through the same thing with bella...not being able to make my pants fit like i wanted i put off buying maternity clothes for the longest time because everything out there SUCKED and i didnt want to give in to the big elastic band pants but let me tell you...I found this pair at Motherhood Maternity that was FANTASTIC!!!!! the elastic goes all the way around, the pants are stretchy, but dont cling to you and they are so so so so comfy. they have dress pants and jeans...i dont think i'll go shopping anywhere else for maternity clothes. Motherhood always has great sales...check them out! I'll try to find out what pants they were and email you a link....as far as the overalls go...do whatever makes you comfortable...maybe try long johns with the button up back....potty breaks just got a whole lot easier! just kidding...please dont do that! :)
