This little monkey-man of mine that is growing up so quickly never ceases to amaze me (and never ceases testing my limits). He is such a fun little kid and knows so much!
I am feeling a bit sentimental because I recently looked at a bunch of his baby pictures and videos and can't get over how much he has grown!! Right now he is in his bed singing I am a Child of God to his mini pumpkins we bought at the store this morning. We had to read them stories, give each of them a good nap kiss, and make sure they were all snugly tucked in next to Eli before nap.
It is so amazing to go on walks with him. He seriously can recognize 95+ percent of all cars, both make and model. He loves pushing his big dump truck all around the neighborhood checking out the cars and their tailpipes. Recently we have seen a few cars with flat tires and he will notify me of such conditions and say "Minivan (or whatever car it happens to be) needs a pit stop."
We have had a bunch of fun company the last few weekends. First my parents came, then Brandon's parents, and then my brother and his little family. His little boy is 20 days younger than Xander. It was so fun to let them play together. I have a bunch of cute photos (as usual - I take WAY too many pictures!) I need to download and post. Anyway - it has sure been fun having family visit. Eli LOVES having people come to "Eli's house" and play cars and go for walks. He really is a fun little person and I just love him to pieces!
One more super exciting thing with Eli - he is starting to potty train HIMSELF!!! I have been procrastinating this task because I don't want it to be a battle! I would rather change a diaper than do a load of laundry. But the last few days he has asked to sit on the potty when he needs to go. Mostly just before or after bed or naptime, but he has a couple times during the day, too! Wahoo!!! This is going to be a lot easier than I thought! After he goes he will get a super serious expression on his face, look me in the eyes and say "Great job going potty like a big boy, Eli."
