A First Word

It is official! Xander has been saying his first word for about a week now, and that word is none other than...drumroll please....Mama! No surprise there I suppose. I thought at first he was just babbling, but it is pretty clear he associates Mama with me. For instance, when I start walking away from him when he doesn't want me to (which is everytime) he screams "Mama" at me until I come back. When I am not paying attention to him while he is eating and he is ready for another bite, he gets my attention with a somewhat disgruntled "Mama." (I think what he is implying in this is more like 'Hey Lady! You with the spoon! Can't you see I am starving here! Snap to attention and give me some grub! Enough of your slacking! What am I paying you to do here?!')

So, there you have it folks. This has been an eventful year thus far. A new tooth, crawling (still not really proficient at this yet but he is getting better daily), and a new word. Well, I am being vociferously summoned by my little dictator...
