We are back from our little Vegas trip. It was so much fun and the weather was SO beautiful and warm!!! I can definitely say that I miss Las Vegas winters!!
Eli did so well on the plane rides! He loved the airplanes, the buses, Las Vegas, the lights, the elevators - oh the abundance of elevators! He didn't nap while we were there and he was a little bit grumpy, but there were so many fun things to look at that he was still really good!
Eli and Mommy in the airplane. He was quite fascinated by the whole thing. He can say airplane really well and I taught him to make whooshing airplane noise that the plane makes when it is taking off. It sounds somewhat like somebody trying to clear phlegm out their throat. Sounds much cuter when Eli does it!
Here is Eli and his new little friend. This is Mya. She is my good friend's little girl. She is about 15 months and is the cutest, most outgoing little girl I have ever met.
Here is me and Eli with Bonny and Mya. We could be from the same gene pool, no? Notice how well Mya is posing for the camera compared with Eli struggling to free himself from my clutches to he can go play.
Bonny and Mya have a really fun park not too far from there house. We went there a few times and Eli loved it. His favorite thing was the mode of transportation by which we arrived at our destination. Mya has a super fun wagon that Eli keeps asking about! He keeps asking for Bonny, Mya, and this is always followed with "wagon."
It was really funny to see all the other kids at the park with warm winter hats, coats, and mittens in 60 degree weather. Eli didn't have his coat on at all, but I started to feel like a bad mom and put his jacket on. Mmmm, Vegas has wonderful sunbeams even in the dead of winter.
Cool little truck at the park.
Bonny running after Mya - that girl can move!
Two little monkeys running amuck.
Cute litte Mya
Two monkeys in the wagon.
Ariel view of monkeys in wagon.
On our way to the park.
Another fun thing we did was go to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. It was a pretty cool exhibit and Eli loved it. He has been really into Finding Nemo, so he enjoyed seeing all the fish and loved saying "boo fish" to all the fish he saw.
This was the coolest part of the exhibit. It looks like a sunken ship and you can see fish in front of you, to the side, above, and below. Eli loved running over the part where it looked like there was no floor. There were all sorts of sharks, swordfish, sawfish, HUGE catfish, and a bunch of others I don't know but they looked cool!
Here is a smaller shark and a really cool big blue fish. His eyes and lips were really funny.
This is the tunnel of fish (I guess you would call it that). The aquarium was a tunnel and the fish were swimming above you and all around on the sides.
This is the ray that I petted. No one else felt up to petting it. It was kind of slimy but seemed very friendly.
Eli is checking Mya's stroller to see if she has any snacks. We never feed this poor kid!
Back in our mediocre hotel room. We stayed at Circus Circus - not the most luxurious of lodgings, but hey, we didn't have to pay for it. Eli was helping Daddy eat his Haagen Daas. Mmmm.
Even sans naps, we would get back to our room and Eli would be just about to drop from sheer exhaustion yet he would muster up surprising amounts of energy to run around the room like a mad man pushing his stroller.
We had such a good time. Eli seemed to really just absorb everything around him (hopefully none of the plentiful pictures of bums and boobs plastering all the hotels, signs, taxicabs, etc--I don't miss that part of Vegas). It was so good to see some of our old friends and neighbors.
As an endnote, here is a totally unrelated random picture of my blossoming belly. #2 has really been quite the active little guy. He seems to wiggle more when he hears Eli's voice. Sometimes Eli will come up to me and pat my belly and say "hi, brother." So cute!
I know I've said it before, but this kid really amazes me at all he knows and can say. He is so good with names and he loves to be around other people and kids. I hope he loves being around his little brother even half as much!

Bonny and Mya sure sound like pretty great girls and they're cute too!! Heheheeee!!
We had so much fun with you guys! We were so sad to see you go. Mya went to our front door 3 times the day after you left and wanted me to open it - as I did she squealed with excitement then ran outside to find her new friends. But she was sad when she couldn't find you and wanted to stay outside until you all of a sudden showed up again. We really loved having you and we look forward to another visit sometime (sooner rather than later:)
You got some really great pics - thanks for sending them to me too - I will send you mine once I finally dowload them. I really love the cute belly picture - you look fantastic my friend!
I could go on and on but I will stop myself here.
Love ya! I'm glad you guys had a fun trip!
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! You guys really could be sisters. Holy cow. I am so jealous that you guys got to hang together. I miss our days galavanting around at Wright Engineers! :) That summer was so much fun for me. You'll have to let me know the next time you're in Las Vegas. We couldnt swing it this time because of the move. We will be there next month though...does that count? :) You look fantastic, i agree with bonny! I wish i looked that good when i was pregnant! I look awful, I blow up like a balloon! Its really not pretty. Hope your pregnancy is going well! FYI We are going to shoot for #2 later in the summer! :)
