Eli had so much fun finding the little eggs once he found out that there was candy in them! It totally amazes me how much this kid can cram into his mouth at once! The Easter Bunny brought him a couple of cars and some sidewalk chalk in addition to the abundance of candy. There is nothing like hopping a kid up on WAY too much sugar before breakfast! Aye, yi yi!
Later that afternoon we bundled up and went to one of the parks downtown and played on the toys and threw rocks into the river to try and detox this kid from his massive sugar overdose (only moderately successful). We had some brief entertainment supplied by an interesting gentleman who had his two dogs and umbrella cockatoo with him for their afternoon at the park. Eli had a blast in any case and really didn't want to go home.
Brandon also got his '65 Impala up and running again this week. Eli has such an infatuation with this automobile and he was totally thrilled to see it out of the garage. He was busy inspecting it from all angles. There were a lot of "WOW, hot rod car," "awesome, hot rod car," "sweet!" and vrooom vrooom noises. He is totally daddy's boy and is going to be daddy's little garage buddy (whether daddy wants the help or not).
Today is Brandon's 30th birthday! Per his request we are keeping the celebrations to a minimum. I taught Eli to say "Happy Birthday, Daddy" -very cute! We went to lunch with a toddler who was more ready for bed than an afternoon out. That was interesting - mental note: find a babysitter next time!
I just feel so blessed to have such a wonderful man as my husband and that I have been able to soak it up in a hot tub with my soul mate for the last 10 years (sorry about the Napoleon Dynamite plug). Marrying your best friend is a really great way to go! Thanks, Honey, for being such a supporting and loving man - you are the BEST!
Loves to play in forts!
Honestly, how many cups does this kid need? He was drinking from all three, sometimes two at a time (he couldn't quite figure out how to fit the third in his hands and mouth).
