The Digger Room

Yesterday we finalized the move for Eli from the Nursery to his Big Boy Room. To put it mildly, he is totally and completely infatuated with his new room! I found some wallpaper decals of different diggers to put on his walls that he absolutely ADORES! He loves looking at them and names them "bulldozer, cement truck, backhoe, skid steer." Yes, this kid has an obsession. I had to order more stickers (long story) so the room still isn't complete. We are still transitioning his stuff from one room to the other and I need to hang up pictures and stuff. Functional it is, aesthetic - we are getting there. We are keeping him in his crib because he doesn't climb out of it yet. It makes a wonderful holding pen and keeps him out of too much mischief (so long as I don't leave any library books in his bed with him).

He took his nap quite well and he drifted peacefully off to sleep last night and slept the whole night through. I guess it was silly to worry that he might have a hard time adjusting to a new room.

Helping Daddy put his new dresser together. This is an awesome little fort, by the way.

Here is a picture of the digger decals...

Ready for snuggles and a story before naptime!

He is such a cute and amazing little kid! I can't get over how smart he is and how much I LOVE this little guy. If I thought he was talking a lot a month ago, then he is talking non-stop now. He is really parroting everything we say and delights in learning new words and phrases. There have been a couple of times that I SWEAR he is reading words when I read him stories before bedtime. It totally freaked me out today when I turned the page in a book that I really don't think I ever read the words out loud - I just talked about the picture, and he said a few of the words printed on the page. I did a double take and decided that I must have read him the words at least once or twice and he remembered them. I think we are going to be in trouble with this one when he gets a little older!

So cute! I really love it! And I love the green color on the walls- just perfect. I'm so glad that Eli loves it and that he adjusted to his new room so quickly.
Love you guys! :)
