Today is my official due date. What a glorious thing to have a perfect 4-week old little man in my arms on my due date! He really is such a sweet little baby and a lot of the time we have to remind ourselves that we have a baby in the house (except for the times where Xander is screaming, Eli is screaming, and I want to run away screaming - that isn't too often thankfully!).
He is getting so big, but he is still so small (does that make sense?). He is still such a little snuggle bug and I love it! He gives us little hints of his smiles from time to time, mostly when he is sleeping. He also has two dimples on his little cheeks! How cute is that? I can't wait to see those in action. He is starting to coo a little bit more. I love the noise he makes when he has a sneeze building up and then it dies before he sneezes. It cracks me up every time!
At 1 month old, here are some of Xander's likes:
- Snuggles
- Having his bottom patted
- Looking around at the world
- The Moby Wrap
- Blowing out his diaper (He must like this because he does it nearly daily and it seems like he does it every time we go for a walk or other inopportune times).
- Cold wet wipes
- The hiccups
- Having his nose cleaned out when it gets stuffy (especially at night when it's dark and I don't have my glasses on - not the best recipe for good aim with that little suction bulb thing)
- Having his clothes changed
Eli's birthday is Monday. We still haven't really planned anything party-wise. Does that make me a bad mom? I think we are just going to have a small little party with cake and ice cream and way too much sugar.
My sister, Tricia, was able to come up and visit us for the weekend. We had so much fun with her. Eli LOVES his Aunty! We took a little trip to Idaho City for a hike on Sunday. It was so nice to get out!! Xander did really well in the car (something that his older brother is still working on). We all enjoyed our little hike. Eli had a blast throwing rocks into the little creek that was by the trail and running around like a madman. He is definitely an outdoor-lovin' kid! He fits into our family well!! Xander did really well, too. I strapped him into the Moby and off we went. It was a lot of fun.
However, before our hike, I was changing him in the truck and he proceeded to strongly reaffirm in my mind the need to bring a spare outfit and LOTS of baby wipes with me wherever we go. Yes folks, he did. So I cleaned him up as best as I could while trying to use the limited supply of wipes sparingly should his brother require any (thank heavens that he didn't), and I replaced his soiled outfit with Eli's jacket. Xander looked pretty cute. Silly babies and their impeccable sense of timing! Okay, diaper's off - ready, aim, FIRE! Mental note: ALWAYS take a spare outfit and lots of wipes whenever leaving the house!!!
After the messy cleanup...
Hooray for the binki and the child who takes it!
Throwing rocks and checking the world out from Daddy's shoulders.
Eli and his beloved Aunty
Such a rockstar!
No, he is not preparing to pole vault, he is going to smack the water with a really big stick.
You can how much fun a little boy has had by the amount of dirt on his face.
Eli comes running whenever he hears me turn on the camera. He loves to look at the pictures I've taken of him.
Attack of Aunty! Eli had so much fun being chased and gobbled up by his Aunty. He would run to the stairs and lift up his shirt to aid in the process of the belly raspberries.
Me and my boys!

WOW! I can't believe it has already been a month. Xander is such a cutie and little Eli is so funny. Mya loved watching his videos. She was dancing right along with Eli - it was really cute!
I am laughing while reading all of Xander's likes and dislikes, because I could be writing the exact same passage about my baby! What sweet little guys you have. Congrats on the anniversary...I can't believe it has been 10 years already! Good for you!
